Signed Sir Trevor Brooking Memorabilia

Trevor Brooking was born on October 2, 1948, in Barking, England. Rejecting offers to join Tottenham and Chelsea at the age of 15, the midfielder signed apprentice forms for West Ham United on July 24, 1965.

On April 3, 1974, he made his full England debut in a 0-0 draw with Portugal. He went on to earn 47 caps, scoring five times.

Brooking netted the only goal of the game to help Second Division West Ham win the 1980 FA Cup Final against red-hot favourites Arsenal. He also won the FA Cup in 1975.

Always popular with the Upton Park faithful, Brooking was voted the club’s Player of the Year four times.

In 1981 Brooking was awarded an MBE, in 1999 it was upgraded to a CBE, and then in 2004 he was knighted.

In total he made 647 appearances for the Hammers during 17 loyal years as a servant of the club, scoring 102 goals in the process.

On August 8 2009, the ‘Centenary Stand’ at Upton Park was renamed the Sir Trevor Brooking Stand.
