Between 1990 and 1998 Hendry was ranked world number one for an amazing eight consecutive years.

Nicknamed the ‘King of the Crucible’ Hendry won a record seven world titles – and they were all claimed in the Nineties.

In addition to his success in Sheffield, Hendry also landed six Masters titles at Wembley, and five UK Championship crowns.

With an astonishing 775 competitive century breaks, the Scot has set an imposing target for snooker’s next generation to follow.

The maestro recorded three maximum 147 breaks at the World Championships in Sheffield, including one in his final appearance in 2012. He shares a record 11 in competitive events with Ronnie O’Sullivan.

Hendry claimed 36 ranking titles in his magnificent 27 year professional career. He also qualified for the World Championships in every single season.
